TEISHEBA
TEISHEBA

The ruins of the Teysheba fortress, built by the order of the Urartan Rusa 1, are located in the territory of the city of Martuni. It bears the name of the god Khaldi. Teysheba is the god of earth and rain in the Van kingdom's mythology.

Cities and settlements were named after him, among which Teyshebaini (now Karmir Blur) is famous. A statuette of Teisheba was found in the Red Hill, which is anthropomorphic, with a battle ax in the left hand and a gourd in the right. The main center of worship was Kumenu.
